2/27/16 - Hi all! It's me again Ruger. I've been in my foster home for two weeks now so here's an update on how things are going. I am settling in nicely and beginning to feel more comfortable about most everything. I went to the vet for my physical and to have my shots updated, I did great getting my shots and passed my physical with flying colors; the vet said I am a very healthy puppy! I hopped right up on the back seat of my foster mom's SUV for the trip, I was unsure of where I was going or exactly what was happening; so I was a tad nervous on the ride there. Once I got to the doctor's office I settled down and all the nice people I met there fell in love with me, (my foster mom says that's an easy thing to do because I am strikingly handsome, have a great disposition and am a sweet 100 lb. Luv Bug!) I don't spend much time in my crate, but when my foster mom tells me it's Nite, Nite time I go into it nicely. I've gotta tell ya though, when she turns off the lights and leaves my room I put up a big fuss for a while! I really prefer having my people close by and having free roam of the house. I am a super good boy when free roaming; I have not had one potty accident or gotten into anything I'm not supposed too. I love chewing on my Nylabone, and as most of y'all know, we GSDs need a job to do and for now mine is getting that pesky treat out of my Kong, I must say I'm pretty darn good at my job! Playing ball is not high on my list ofthings to do; I will play for just a little while to make my foster mom happy, playing fetch with a big ole stick is right down my alley though! That bossy foster sister I was telling you about well, she's not so bad after all; we have lots of fun running and playing and chasing each other around the yard until we are totally pooped! We play in the house sometimes too .....now that's 100 and 85 lbs of puppy dog running around the house, can you just imagine what that sounds like! We really do have fun playing with each other, even though we are still working on getting our "Pack Order" squared away. I've seen those two cats from a distance, but I've not been introduced to them so for now I can't tell you if I like them or not, I will let you know about that later. My foster dad and I have a "Man Cave" with a nice comfy sofa; I LOVEclimbing up on that thing and taking my naps. I'm also a watch dog extraordinaire, I will let you know with a bark that "definitely" matches my size when a car pulls in the driveway or someone is coming to the door. We are working on commands like come, (being the big strong boy I am my foster mom wants me to do this one "Johnny on the Spot"), we are also working on, sit, down and stay. I am very smart and catch on quickly, I am strong willed too, so at times I have to stop and think if I really want the do these or not, but in the end I do most of these just fine if I know a treat is coming my way. My foster mom will fool me every now and then and give me a command with no treat in her hand, she says I need to learn to obey her, (not for a treat), "Just Because She Said So" I guess all of you have had your mom tell you that, Right? Well, I guess that's about it for now, but keep a watch out for the next update that one will be coming from my foster mom. Ruger 2/17/16 Hi, Everyone! My name is Ruger and I am a "BIG Happy Boy"!! I just arrived at my foster home so I will have to check back in with you a little later to let you know more about me. My foster mom tells me I am a very sweet boy! There are a lot of new things here that I have to get acquainted with: number one is a very "Bossy" foster sister, my foster brother is pretty Kool, he is an older fellow who is kinda laid back and pretty much likes to stay to himself. I have two other four legged foster siblings, I think they are called cats and boy, do they bark funny! I'm not so sure about my foster brother and sister yet, and those things call cats, so I will have to let you know later just how well I get along with them. My foster mom and dad tell me I am a very smart boy. I am "Big" and "SUPER" strong, so for now I have to wear this thing call a prong collar when my foster mom and dad take me out to potty or to go for a walk. I really like my foster mom a lot and I follow her everywhere during the day, but when my foster dad comes home I am all his, so I guess you could say I really do like men better. Well, I am going to go settle down in my crate now and take a little nap ....stay tuned and I will be talking to you again real soon! Note from foster parent: Ruger will be available for adoption in about 4 weeks to qualified approved adopters by contacting foster at: bhriddick@yahoo.com
