– and my foster Mom says it fits me perfectly, right down to my long, beautiful and very plush fur coat! Keeping all this fur looking good takes a lot of work but I enjoy being brushed and have been known to fall asleep while my belly’s being brushed – it feels just like a massage to me.
When my foster Mom describes me she also says I’m full of energy and very affectionate especially for a 7 year old. She jokes that she’s going to put me in the Kiss and Snuggle event in the next Olympics but, personally, I think I’d take the gold, hands down. I absolutely love to play ball and enjoy an old fashioned game of tug-o-war with my foster Dad. The three of us play all the time! It takes a lot of play time but eventually I get so tired I fall asleep, usually on my foster Dad’s feet. They think it’s cute J
I know a few basic tricks and have mastered “down” and “sit” and walk fairly well on a leash (we’re working on the walk thing) and I love to ride in the car. The thing I do best, though, is to come flying when somebody says my name.
When it’s time to call it a day they put a cover on my kennel so I know it’s time for sleep. I climb right into my own bed and it’s lights-out for me. Although I sleep alone and would rather cuddle with my 2 sisters, they’re not allowed in bed with me. You see, they’re cats and I’m afraid I might roll over and squish them so they have to sleep in their own beds.
I think it would be so awesome if my new home had a buddy or two for me to play with; maybe a dachshund or yorkie, or a spunky terrier type. I don’t like the big boys but as long as they’re smaller than me and have lots of energy to play it would be great!! You know who else I hope lives there – kids! A lot of times they’re smaller than me too and just as much fun to play with. My dream home would have 2-legged and 4-legged playmates and a Mom or Dad who would stay home with me most of the time. I can stay home by myself, sometimes, but after a while I can get really nervous all by myself and next thing you know I let my nerves get the better of me and I misbehave. My foster Mom and Dad understand I don’t get so nervous while they’re gone if they put me in my bed, especially when the cover’s on. You see, when I hide under the covers the monsters can’t see me and I know I’ll be safe until my people come home.
