06/03/2015: Beau is a big and gentle 10 year old. He is calm, friendly and low energy - to the point where I refer to him as Beau Hemian. He enjoys being with his people and loves to lay near you. Beau meets all creatures nicely,  is leash-trained and does not require a fenced yard.  He does not mind cats.  He is on a diet to lose some weight per doctor's orders, but he's not self concious about it. One of his back knees is giving him some trouble and weight loss should help with that too. He enjoys going out for walks and can keep a fast pace. Initially Beau couldn't even walk a block, but in just under a month we're walking up to two miles a day and starting to jog too! He has also lost about four pounds. He will literally nuzzle into you and wag his tail with excitement if you leash him. Since he's feeling better, he does a little bouncing around at walk time too. He has learned to "wait" at streets, doors and when otherwise asked to. He is learning "leave it".

He likes to nuzzle his head and lean into you to show affection - just like a cat. With Beau around, you'll find that sometimes his head magically appears under you hand. He is fine left out at home when away and does not need crating. Beau will bark to warn you somebody is at the door, but tell him it's okay and he'll welcome them in with a nuzzle. Beau is looking for a home with lots of love and where he can be with his people. Beau has been with his foster for under a month - check back for updates.
