Remington is a gorgeous, happy, healthy, and playful five (almost six) month old GSD mix with a super sweet, outgoing personality.  He is incredibly loving, and a great combination of independent and affectionate.  He enjoys following you around and plopping down for belly rubs, as well as going off to find his toys and keeping himself entertained.  He’s very smart and easy to train, but will need formal training once he’s adopted into his forever home.  I think this is the kind of pup that has endless possibilities as far as what he can be trained to do.  He picks up on routines very quickly, loves to learn, and loves to please.

Remington has gotten along very well with dogs of all sizes and even a couple of cats he has met.  He LOVES meeting people and is full of that puppy playfulness.  Remy also has protective instincts and will bark when the doorbell rings and if he hears or sees a stranger outside of the house.

Remington loves to play with his toys and enjoys games like fetch.  Again, he’s very bright and can easily be taught games that keep him mentally stimulated and challenged.  He also gets a lot of his puppy energy out by playing with his foster brother, and is one of those dogs that would love dog parks and play dates with other pups.

Luckily, Remington seems to have always been treated very well and does not have anything traumatic in his background.  He shows no food aggression at all and has even eaten out of the same bowl as his foster brother.  He’s also been known to lick the water and food that drips out of his foster brother’s mouth, and could not be more adorable when doing it!

Remington has gorgeous coloring... a short black coat with rust on his cheeks, chest, and legs.  He will most likely not be much bigger than 60 lbs when full grown, but you can already tell he’s going to be very powerful.  Despite his powerful potential, he has a sweetness and softness that I know will always be a part of his nature.  If you love to cuddle, this could be the pup for you.

Remy has typical puppy needs in terms of energy/exercise and frequent potty breaks.  An ideal adopter would not leave him home alone for long periods, and would be able to give him proper physical exercise, training, and mental stimulation.  Remy responds very well to correction, but needs structure and positive reinforcement.  Again, he very much wants to please, and punishment should never be used with him.

Remington is a fantastic pup and deserves the best forever family possible.  If you are an approved VGSR adopter and looking for a super loving boy, you may email for more info and a possible meet and greet.  Email: Remington4236@gmail.com

Remington is being fostered in Northern Virginia (Fairfax Station).  For more information on how to adopt from Virginia German Shepherd Rescue or to check out the rest of his photos, go online to:  VGSR.org or ShepherdRescue.org
