Ree came to me a caged over bred 54lb neglected 4 year old German Shepherd.  I do not believe that she has ever been inside a house before.  Ree had no idea what stairs were, what to do with toys, or was unable to stand up straight because of being caged.  The first week that I had her I let her just get used to being able to trust that she was going to get feed daily, that she would have fresh water, that she would be able to run around in the yard if that is what she wanted.  I gave her a toy that she tried to hide in her crate, but that was OK that would be her toy.

The next week we started on getting used to being in a “pack”.  Getting used to having rules in the house.  This is hard for her.  She has learned the command sit.  We are working slowly on each command and each rule of the house.  She knows that I’m the pack leader.

This girl is going to be a beauty.  When she finally has all of her weight on which I think she may be 80-90lbs.  She has that beautiful Red and Black coloring.

UPDATE:  Ree is doing awesome.  She now weighs 70lbs.  She is completly crate trained. She is 95 % house trained, you need to watch for her signs that she needs to go outside.  She has gone to the door a few times, so it will not be long before she is 100% trained.  She is very loving.  She loves her toys and loves tennis balls.  She loves car rides.  Ree has come a LONG way.  Just to know that she is now enjoying life is wonderful.  She loves to roll around in the grass.  She is going to make someone a very special partner.  She still needs to learn more house manners, but this girl is willing to learn, and give her all.  Ree is loving life!
