German Shepherd Dog : : Female (spayed) : : Adult

Hazel is the calmest, sweetest and most obedient German Shepherd I have ever met.
She takes treats very gently, does not guard food, water or toys, but does not like to have other dogs take her sticks out in the front yard. She has beautiful long legs that make her look like a horse when she runs.
She is very fond of our cat. Unfortunately, the cat is not fond of her.
She is eager to meet people and have them pet her. She almost never barks, even when someone is at the door. She is crate trained and will go into her crate just to lie down. When we have had to leave her in her crate because we are leaving the house, when we come back she stands up but doesn't bark to get our attention to let her out.
Loud noises frighten her slightly.
When a loud noise happens, she will come over to me for reassurance and then lies down at my feet. She rides well in cars. She likes to sit on the seat and look out of the window. She still pulls on the leash when walking but will correct easily.
She has learned her boundaries in my yard and I can take her out without a leash. She will come when called. When I say "house" or just "Ok" she knows that it is time to go in and will run to the front door. She knows the phrase "let's go out" very well and will go directly to the door to go out.
She knows stay, sit, come, down, back up, and no. She is full of energy and loves to run outdoors but is very calm when indoors. She gets along very well with our border collie. She will make a good first dog for a family new to German Shepherds and a great additional dog for anyone.
