April 19, 2014 is a day to remember. My mom and my seven sisters and brothers got loaded up and went on a really long ride and ended up with a nice family that was mostly German Shepherd Dogs of all sizes and shapes. The people washed us really well and weighed us and said they would wait a while to name us. We were sniffed all over by all the dogs and put in our own special area where only mama and family could come. It was nice and warm and clean and life was good.
Well, it’s been two weeks - they say it’s the end of April and the people have decided to name me. I am a sweet boy but they say I’m too shy. I’ve noticed they handle me more than everyone else and I really like that. They decided to call me Panther. I’m not black like a panther because I have white feet and white on my chest and head and a tiny tip on my tail, but they think a big brave name will make me big and brave. I kind of like being a Panther. I don’t feel so good though. It seems that when we were at the pound, we picked up some kind of bugs that itch a lot. My beautiful coat has been falling out and I don’t even want to think about looking at a picture of myself right now. I’m lucky though because I am getting medicine to make me feel better and my brothers and sisters are too. Mom still has milk for us but we are big kids now and can eat real food.
Another update: It’s May 8 and the people think I am charming. I have proven I could live up to my name. I am brave and bold and if you forget to include me in anything, I will come over and tell you. I love to be petted and I can snuggle up in your neck and wag my tail a hundred times a minute.
I’m going to keep letting everyone know what’s going on with me because I want a wonderful home. It’s May 15 now and I am not itching so much anymore. I’ve gotten my second shots and stuff for worms. My coat is growing back some now and I am getting really handsome. Yesterday, I was the first of the boys to lift my leg when I went potty. That was a proud moment for me. My mama went to live with “another foster home” and we kids are on our own. We love to run in the yard and bark and play. My specialty is hiding in the weeds and attacking any unsuspecting sister or brother who ventures by. They never know what happened when I run out of the bushes like the Panther I am. They say I need a little bit more antibiotics for my sore skin parts, but I am old enough to find my forever home. I will be the very best puppy and I try hard to only potty outdoors, but sometimes it rains and that’s not good. I am my foster daddy's favorite and I am smart. I was the first puppy to come when I am called because I know my name and I am a good dog.
Please think of adopting me. My mama is a GSD. Who cares about daddy…I’m perfect like I am.
Approved adopters (whatever that is) can contact my foster mom at eb@rescuegsds.org
Sure would be good if some nice people helped out with our doctor bills because we had a rough time.
