He is very sweet and a great disposition! We will be having his hips evaluated - he has little muscle mass and is a bit wobbly. We think this boy will go quickly once his hips are diagnosed/fixed! GREAT PUP INDEED!

10-15-13 UPDATE

Rikert is a big boy with a lot of pup in him! He is learning some manners, boundaries and appropriate play with our 4 dogs. He came to us with possible hip problems but our Orthopedist checked x-rays and says his hips and knees are fine! He had little muscle mass in his back legs but with a lot of daily exercise, he is improving and getting stronger. He still is a little “twisty” in his back legs when he walks but it does not slow him down a bit! He loves to play with a ball, collect all the Nyla-Bones (even when they are being chewed by someone else) and is eager to please.  He plops his big head on our laptops when we sit down in the evening and tries to “help”  or just check out what we are doing. He is a bit of a pushy male but we contribute a lot of that to lack of being taught as he grew up and he does respond well to verbal corrections.  He gives us a look like “What??  What did I do?”  Totally loveable expressions! He walks well on leash and knows some basic commands.

We are looking for a family who can give him minimum crate time, continued exercise, more socialization, some training and lots of time with his new fam.  He is affectionate and truly just likes to hang with his people.  If we didn’t have four of our own, we would definitely adopt him!
