Gabe came to VGSR at no fault of his own, when his owners had to move and were unable to find a dog friendly home in time. He lived with one family from a small pup until a few weeks ago. Gabe was an only dog and with long work hours he was not stimulated enough. He is just a giant puppy. He can't sit still and wants to play with the other dogs and seek out human interaction in his every waking moment. He is a typical young GSD boy... needy, goofy, playful and spastic. He is learning some manners, counter surfing and jumping ... but is already extremely obedient. He responds to the German commands for sit, stay and down (though his down lasts for ten seconds)! He does come with all of his original paperwork from his breeder and can be registered with the AKC if you so desire. He is a lot of fun and as usual a big love bug. I'm unsure about cats, but I am confident he would be gentlemen (of course if you have cats, we would have to test him). He doesn't bark at other dogs and is extremely friendly for such little socialization in his life. He constantly paws Echo on the face, and pounces his front end down to initiate play. They love to play the chase game, running in circles chasing each other with a ball. He is a lovely boy who just needs some stimulation; walks, doggie friends, play and affection. He is one handsome man! Gabe was not raised with kids, but I have seen him interact with my 8 year old niece and he does not raise any concern and does great with her. I would like for Gabe to go to a home with a dog that he can play with, or a family that is not gone for long hours during the day. If there is a great match that does work long hours, I would like for it to be made up for in the evenings and weekends. He has a lot of pent up energy and love to give and will require a great deal of attention. A strong leader is best to continue teaching him how to behave. He has a lot of potential and will make a wonderful addition to the right home. I have nothing but great things to say about Gabe.
