About Mariah
Status: Adopted!
Species: Dog
Ear Type: Natural/Uncropped
I would like to introduce Mariah, a very sweet and loveable girl, who would like to find that special home to call her own. Mariah lived with another Shepherd for most of her life, but since he passed away several years ago, she would like another playmate, (or two, or three) to have fun with. She likes all dogs and even cats. If a cat decides to nap on her bed, Mariah respectfully goes elsewhere. She doesnt chase or bother cats at all. Just pleasantly interested in them as friends! Mariah has the graying face of a senior girl, but acts much younger than her age. She enjoys walks and has a nice bouncy gait when checking out the scenery in the neighborhood. She is good on a leash and knows many commands. She will talk to you if you want to have a conversation. Not a bark or howl, just her own special language! She does bark appropriately at strangers or other dogs near her home. She is great when meeting new people, and seems to like anyone and everyone who will give her a little love and affection. Ear rubs are her favorite! She goes in her crate occasionally, especially during thunderstorms which she is reported to be frightened of, but is totally house-trained and will let you know if she needs to go out. She likes to sleep near her care-taker but does not jump on the bed or other furniture. No destructive habits at all, just a very sweet, affectionate girl. She does need to find a home with a fenced-in yard, or one not near wild-life, as she has decided that chasing deer is a fun sport! No electric fences please. She also shows a great deal of interest in rabbits and squirrels, so if you have furry creatures in your area, you need to have a fence. Mariah will make a great companion for just about anyone and would love to have dog friends or children to play with. She would be a good first dog for a family who has never had the pleasure of owning one
