Hello from my new foster home in Northern Virginia! Ive been hanging out in this rescue for some time growing my coat back, gaining weight, mitigating allergies, and getting more familiar with the world -- but now its time for me to go home! A little about me: I live well in packs large and small, enjoy a long walk and will play fetch for hours. Ill pull on the leash at first, but will heel perfectly when I trust you. Im housetrained, crate-trained, love car rides, and take treats gently. I sit for my food and to go through a doorway after my leader. I know lots of commands (sit, lay, off, down, and heel) and have good house manners. Of course, I love affection from adults and will reward a little attention with deep loyalty and licking your face (if youre into that). I require daily meds for allergies and a heart murmur they cost only about $8/month and dont stop me from doing anything. I can run and fetch with the best of em. Im looking for a [GSD-experienced] calm, assertive leader to help me interact with this crazy world, especially those scary thunderstorms and wild things you call children. Id be a great dog for a single person whod like an affectionate, furry, extra-pair-of-pointy-ears around or an adult-only family who lives on a large, rural property (Oh, the fetch we could play!). Ill warn you when someones approaching our house and am totally on top of whats going on around us. Mostly, I need someone who doesnt get scared when I create some barking bluster.
