Storm Has Been Given Up On Too Many Times – Will You Be The One Who Stays?

Storm is a stunning, all-black German Shepherd with a heart that has been bruised but not broken. Time and time again, she’s been let down. Passed over. Returned. Neglected. She’s been waiting for someone who won’t give up on her—someone who will see her for the incredible soul she is and give her the love she’s always deserved.

When Storm first arrived at the rescue, she was completely shut down. She wouldn’t let anyone near her, running at the slightest approach. She had learned, the hard way, that people weren’t always safe. But over time, in the right hands, she has started to believe in kindness again. Now, she’s built trust with her foster family and even finds comfort in the other dogs in the home. She’ll even come up for affection—on her terms, in her time. But she is still healing. She is still learning.

Storm needs a home that understands patience. She won’t be your instant best friend, but if you let her set the pace, she will let you in. Once she does, she will want to sleep beside you, seek your love, and gently nudge her way into your heart—especially when she sees another dog getting attention. Because of this, she would do best in a home with another calm, confident dog who will give her space but also help her continue to come out of her shell.

She isn’t a “Velcro” shepherd—at least not yet. Maybe one day, when she truly feels safe, she will be. Right now, she just wants to belong. She isn’t big into toys, but she’s started running with the other dogs. It’s the small victories that make the biggest difference for Storm.

Her perfect home will have:
✅ A 6ft fenced yard where she can move freely and feel secure.
✅ A calm and stable canine companion.
✅ A patient adopter who will let her adjust on her own terms.
✅ Older, considerate children (no young kids).
✅ Someone who is home most of the day—she can’t be left alone for long periods.
✅ A family committed to taking her on daily walks to help build her confidence and continue her progress.

We won’t sugarcoat it—Storm has been failed too many times. She deserves better. Because of her past, her adoption process will be different. She will need multiple meet-and-greets to ensure she feels safe with her new family before making the transition.
