7/29/23  Betty is a 62 lbs., 2 year old black spayed GSD female.

She is potty trained and crate trained.  Currently lives with puppy Artemis 6434 and the 85 lbs. resident GSD male.  She has done ok with them and other dogs so far.  Betty is unknown with cats and I have no way to test her.

Betty is very sweet, but has not grown out of her puppy mannerisms.  Her leash walking is far from perfect, but improving. 

Betty and her mother Grace were surrendered by her owner because of health reasons.  While it appears that she wasn’t used to regular walks, she has adapted quickly to her new life and she gets excited whenever she knows she’s about to go on a walk.  She also does fine on car rides.

She is still a bit shy, and new things/situations make her uncomfortable, but not to the point of shutting down.

Although I’m reasonably sure she’ll eventually grow out of her jumpiness and mouthiness, her interactions with children should be closely monitored until she matures.

Betty could benefit from a basic obedience class and has the potential to progress from there.

All in all, Betty has been an easy foster and will probably make a great companion for the right human.

Her ideal adopter would have previous GSD, or at least dog experience, and be able to handle a young, moderately energetic dog.  Previous VGSR adopters welcome.
