Meet Lucy 6296!  She is a beautiful 3 year old golden German Shepherd.  Lucy has had a lot of change recently and she is doing fabulous adjusting. She is anxious in new environments which is normal for any dog moving to different homes. She adjusts well given time to decompress. Sadly, Lucy has spent most of her life living in an outdoor kennel. She came into rescue when her owner suddenly passed away and a neighbor reached out to VGSR for assistance. Lucy bonds with her people quickly and loves giving kisses, tail wags and paws! She is learning to navigate different floor surfaces that are slick. She has lived in a short-term foster home with other small dogs and did great. Lucy is super smart, learns quickly and is treat motivated. She has good leash manners when working on a short leash but is a heavy puller on a long lead. Lucy is energetic and is motivated to have a job. She would do well with an adopter who could work on training and activities to expel some of her energy. Lucy has been spayed and vetted. She did fantastic at the vet and the staff was sad to see her leave. Lucy is a velcro girl and would love to help you with your daily chores, hang out while you work, and just be your buddy. She isn't bothered by things like vacuuming and she was not phased by the recent fireworks. She happily greets visitors. It is time for Lucy to have the home she deserves with stability, adventures and she will be your faithful best friend in return. Lucy is fostered near Yorktown VA.
