German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
Everyone meet Blaze! This goofy, fun loving, 2 year old is a beautiful sable colored male neutered GSD. He has a youthful face with unique stripes down his back and sides. Blaze was pulled from a high kill shelter in KY. We don't know if he was an owner surrender, or a stray, but I am so glad he was saved! He loves kids and people in general, although I don't recommend Blaze around small children, only because of his goofy nature. My youngest is 8 and Blaze loves to hang out with him under the trampoline when he jumps. If you want a puppy without the puppy teething, then Blaze is the missing piece of your family that you have been looking for. He is a silly adolescent! He doesn't know how to fetch yet, but he does love to play ball. He plays by himself! He throws the ball, runs and chases it, and does it over and over again. It is adorable to watch. He would benefit from a yard to run free and let his goofiness shine. Did I mention he loves sticks? Ropes, balls, basically any toy, except soft ones. They don't stand a a chance lol. Poor Lambchop lasted about a day. He doesn't love his crate, but he will settle down after a few minutes. He had a couple of potty accidents at first, but learned his new routine pretty quickly. We haven't tested him around cats. Blaze would do best with other dogs, preferably one a little older than can show him the ropes of being part of the family. The name fits him; he runs like a blaze of fire through the yard, and runs "zoomies" around my female GSD, trying to get her to play with him. Blaze is treat driven, and has learned how to sit with the help of treats. We are still working on "paw". He responds well to positive praise, and loves to be given affection, although he is not much of a kisser. He does, however, smile when you kiss him, cuddle him, and hug him. He very much wants to be where his people are. and will follow you from room to room. If the kids are outside, he has to be with them. Although Blaze is an outgoing, fun loving boy, he will still need his future family to have lots of patience, love, and understanding as he settles in to his new routine and builds trust with his new pack.
