1/7/2020 - Adopted

1/1/2021 - Spay completed, she is recovering nicely. She should be going to her furever home next week.

12/17/2020 - Miss Flicka has begun doing home visits to see how she interacts with the potential new families.

12/12/2020 - As you may imagine we have received a lot of interested in Miss Flicka. As such any interest being received after today will be placed into the second pool of applicants in case a suitable home matching Flicka's needs is not found in the first round.  Please take a look at all our other dogs on the website and reach out to their fosters to see if they may be a good match for you. Also, dogs are constantly coming into the Rescue so please keep an eye on the website for new arrivals.

12/01/2020 - Flicka is definitely coming out of her shell.  Today was a day of new activities.  She wants to get out and visit/see everything - so to accomplish that, she climbed our 6' fence around the side yard and then jumped the 4' fence around the backyard.  Happily when I called for her she came back at a full run.   But, on her run back to me she saw 2 of our cats and gave a chase.  Tyger ignored her but Whiskey (the one in the video) ended about25' up a tree.  Waiting to see her figure out how to come back down. Nothing like giving me a heart attack in the morning.  Her energy level is starting to show. first few days she was very calm and mellow.  She is definitely bouncy in the mornings and needs to get her energy out or it is mischief in the house. Also, if there is a bone or treat she thinks it  is hers and will come straight out and try to take them away from one of the other dogs. If everyone had one, she will collect them all and somehow they end up back on her bed or in her kennel. She will want to be top dog and may try to push it a bit.

11/24/2020 - Trip to the vet went well; Miss Flicka was on her best behavior. No issues found. Her spay has been scheduled for December 30th, so she won't be available for adoption until then. But what a great way to celebrate the New Year - welcoming a new family member!  On our walk today she saw utility trucks, runners, a riding mower that backfired, and people walking - she was interested and alert but no fear, didn't even startle with the backfire. If someone showed interest in her, she was all wags, otherwise she was alert and watched. Not a single bark from her. Added a video (showing her and our cat Whiskey) and a couple pictures - note the stylish vest she's showing off - Smile.

11/23/2020 - We just got Miss Flicka and are learning her personality. She is a sweet pup. So far she has been a real charmer with her tail wagging for every person she sees. She is a confident young girl, nothing shy about her. She wants to be in the middle of everything, exploring & investigating, and sniffy everything she can. She is smart too - already picked up "kennel", walking nicely on a leash, "wait", "no", and that the couch is for people and an old, grumpy cat.  She is a bit more stubborn about "sit" as she wants to keep moving. She is being exposed to both dogs and cats - not sure how that will end up but will report more on this as time goes on.

Miss Flicka has NOT been spayed and thus WON'T be available for adoption until sometime AFTER she recovers from her surgery.

If you are interested in our beautiful girl AND you are an approved adopter, you can email me at AMutt4You@gmail.com. If you aren't approved - what are you waiting for? Get your application in so you are ready for the next wonderful dog(s) that comes along!

That is all for now.  Better pictures to come. Keep an eye out for future updates.
