My name is Rocky (insert "Eye of the Tiger" music in the background). I have not been with my foster family for very long, but I can say I can really get used to being a house dog. My previous family moved me to a place called a shelter because apparently chasing cows is frowned upon. I didn't know any better and I thought I was doing a good job keeping them all together. Anyway, the shelter was really crowded and I shared a kennel with another doggo. I was relocated from the shelter because I was "at risk" (whatever that means).
Now I have a crate all to myself with my own blankets where I sleep and can go in and out of freely when my parents are home. It's my quiet place. I even have my own toys! My foster brother has his own crate and toys. Sometimes we share toys. We share our foster parents too. They say I am a fast learner when they teach me cool things. It makes me happy, too, because I get lots of treats or even more play time with my ball. So far they have taught me how to sit, lay down, off, leave it, and I can hold a sit-stay for about 3 seconds. I already walk nicely on a leash and let them know when I have to go potty. I'm pretty sure there are more things they want to teach me. With all of this teaching though, I do get to be with a pack, and that is the most important thing to me. I especially like being around my foster dad. Don't worry, I make sure I get lots of loves from my foster mom too and she makes sure I get them too! Snuggles and scratches are my absolute favorite.
Although I'm almost a year old, I'm pretty laid back. I'm honestly content being with my pack. I enjoy play time with my foster family or even a ball or rope toy. I'm ok with other doggos (big and small) and I really enjoy people. I just met some small humans over the weekend (I think they are called children?) and I enjoyed letting them give me belly rubs and scratches. I gave them gentle kisses too because they are so small, but only if they wanted them. I've heard something about introducing me to creatures called cats. I have no clue what those are so I guess we will wait and see.
I love my foster family and they are great, but I need a family of my own - my own pack. I need to be in a pack that will take me with them on adventures and teach me more cool tricks. I have a bunch of love to give and I just want to make my people happy. I really hope my forever family finds me soon. Until then, I will hangout with my foster family and keep showing them how awesome I can be.
