6.19.17 Maya continues to learn more about being a domesticated dog, but still exhibits some feral behavior when frightened. She has found her voice, and has become very possesive of her home and foster mom. She continues to learn about socializing with other dogs, but still has some issues with play. She will require a strong owner who has extensive dog experience, as well as an understanding that she will never be a "normal" dog due to the fact that she had little to no human interaction until being placed with VGSR. Training is an ongoing process. She is only able to tolerate very short sessions (5 minutes or less) before she becomes stressed and shuts down. Maya is quite an escape artist, she has been seen scaling 10' fences. Because of this, she will never be able to be left in a fenced yard alone. Maya is a sweet girl, but will require a lot of patience to enable her to reach her full potential.
