1/12/2016  My name is Karly. I am a beautiful 18 month old German Shepherd dog looking for a new home. I'm currently staying in lower Montgomery county just over the bridge from VA in the 20818 zip code.  My foster family says I'm going to grow into a wonderful dog and will make the right family very happy. I'm very smart, treat and ball motivated, super sweet, friendly and am already learning some basic commands and can walk pretty well on a leash. I like kids and live with my foster family and their 8 year old son. I was hit by a car a couple of months ago and am nearly completely recovered and am now back to my normal high energy playful self. I get along with some dogs (prefer larger) and like to play but i do prefer to be in charge. If you have a squirrel problem, i'd be thrilled to help out. I do need to find a family with some open space, preferably a large fenced  yard, with lots of time to play ball and walk me. I sometimes get a little nervous when being walked near moving cars but even that has improved a lot.  I may do well with another friendly dog to keep my company if it were the right dog. I've gotten used to a crate at night but my foster family says I'm probably going to be fine with free roam of the house.  I'll do well with an owner who is comfortable with leading, teaching, and challenging me to become a great dog. If you are an approved adopter and would like to know more feel free to contact my foster dad (ejs480@yahoo.com).  If you havent applied to adopt from VGSR yet, then what are you waiting for?
