Hi!

I’m Maverick.  I came to VGSR from a shelter.  I was an urgent pup as I had a puncture wound in my eye.   Luckily, VGSR was able to take me and in a short couple of weeks my eye has healed and I do not need surgery!

Now that I am feeling better and know I am safe, I am acting my age.  I’m a typical, young pup who is still learning boundaries.  I am testing the limits, so I am looking for a forever family that will provide me with structure and guidance and watch me grow into a great companion.

I am food motivated and eager to please. That combined with my desire to please, make me a quick study.  I am good on leash and learning commands every day. After all, I do want to be teacher’s pet!

I love to play and run. After a good round of mental and physical exercise, I enjoy snuggle time.

While, I try to be good, I do want to chase cats, but to play.  I correct quickly and am learning to not chase them.

Am I friendly?  You bet!  I am great with dogs, adults and kids who are comfortable around big dogs. I tend to be mouthy and pushy with kids who are not, but am working on this with my foster mom.  

Stay tuned – I am not available yet, but my foster mom says I am definitely worth the wait!
