We have fostered so many dogs over the years. I cannot remember ever fostering a dog who has tried harder to "fit in" and be a good girl than Zena. She came to us like the wild dog of Borneo a couple of weeks ago. It was painfully obvious that poor Teeny Zeeny had never been inside of a house before her arrival here. It was a rough couple of days at first. BUT - this dog has blossomed in an almost miraculous way. She wants to be involved in everything we do and she has turned into quite a cuddly and well behaved girl. If you have been considering making a donation to a needy dog, Zena would be an excellent candidate - She is unfortunately heartworm positive and will be receiving treatment as soon as she is healed up from being spayed, having a rotten split canine tooth removed, and also a surgery that we have dubbed the "meatballectomy". By the looks of her undercarriage, many puppies have been served at Zena's milk bar. This resulted a couple of severely over-used mammary glands that took on the appearance of meatballs. (Sorry to anyone having spaghetti for dinner tonight!) She rides well in the car, she was amazingly well behaved at the vet's office and she is terrific with other dogs. Zena really enjoys a good snuggle and wags her tail furiously all the time. When John was bringing in his bike through the back gate, she escaped and promptly came right back to us when we called for her. What a relief! More about Zena 3587Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
