My name is King, which is an appropriate name as I am both regal and king sized. I am a very good looking boy, if I do say so myself. I have only been with my foster Mom for a week. I arrived with kennel cough, which is much improved. My medication will be finished on 9-6. Due to the kennel cough, I have not had much interaction with the resident dog, or the outside world. Mom will be working on that. While no small children live here, I have done well with the resident teenager and his friends. Mom says I have been a good house guest. I have been left unattended in a bedroom. I have not been destructive, nor have I had accidents. I bond very quickly and respond well to praise. I am happy to run, jump and play, but just as happy to lie quietly at your feet. Call my name and I am immediately at your side. I will follow you anywhere and give you all the love I have to give. Updates will be posted, as Mom learns more about me.

Update 10/9/13

I have been in my foster home for over a month. My Mom does not know why no one is interested in me. I am drop dead gorgeous and a real love. Yes, I am 8 years old. People who meet me can’t believe I am 8. Mom checks the list of approved adopters and there do not seem to be people looking for a dog my age. I do not understand. I am healthy. I still have so much to give. You can whisper your secrets into my big ears and I will never tell. If you have a hard day, you can bury your face in my thick coat. I do not mind. I will lick your face when you are sad. I will sit on your feet when they are cold. Well, I will probably sit on your feet anyway, because I can never get close enough. I like when my person sits on the floor with me and hugs me tight or kisses my nose. I even know how to give hugs. I am a great TV/movie buddy. I do not even beg for popcorn. Did I mention that I also love car rides? Just remember, when you get out of the car, I want to get out too.

Mom says that I am a low maintenance kind of guy. I have never lived in a home with other pets. I guess I could take them or leave them, but I would not mind getting your love all to myself. I am very strong, but have learned to walk pretty well on a prong collar and to ignore things, when told. OK, I admit those pesky squirrels are hard to ignore. I am very alert and will always let you know when I see or hear something unusual. You will always feel safe with me, because I look so intimidating. (Shhhh! No one needs to know how sweet I am, but you.)

There are not any guarantees in life. None of us know how long we will be healthy, or how long we will live. I could live to be 10 or 15. I do not know. The only thing I can guarantee is that I will love you for rest of my life.

King 3605 is an 8 year old male GSD who will make a very fine “only dog”.  He does well with other dogs, but he likes to go off and be by himself. He hasn’t been tested with kids.  He tested well with dog savvy cats.  King 3605 has a large frame and should weigh ~90 to 95 lbs.  His personality is starting to show more as he gains weight and gets his strength back.
