Belgian Shepherd Malinois (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Large
Penny is young female Belgian Malinios. She is a typical adolescent that loves a quick run through the yard by herself, with her foster siblings or around the block and then it is off for a nap for the day with her head on a pillow snoring away! A picture tells a thousand words and let me tell you that she settled right into the household of her foster siblings in a matter of minutes snuggling under the covers on the dog bed with the Chihuahua’s. She is doing well with large and small dogs (2 big and 3 small). Penny has also meet the resident cats that are old and grumpy and is not bothered by them. The resident bird however has given her a run for her dog bone and she does not want to meet with the mean bird again! She will need a little time to warm up to her new furever family. Penny has been found to be very affectionate and loves to snuggle once she settles in to a routine. She has been found on many occasions sleeping by the side of her fosters, curled up at their feet and rolling over for a belly rub. She loves outings in the car (backseat or a crate), going to the store, meeting new people that have come to visit her and do not chase her but allow her to approach them. Penny does tug slightly on a leash but with a couple of corrections and no loud noises she enjoys going for a walk, she knows sit, is learning down and understands come but has to gain your trust. Penny will strive in a home that will be willing to continue working with her in building confidence, continue her socialization skills and keep her busy with positive obedience training.
