Stunning, well trained, loyal and eager to please. These are the qualities that we have noted in the few short hours we have had the pleasure of Millie’s company. Per her owner, she knows many commands(and has proven quite a few here with us), was trained in Search and Rescue as well as Agility. Her owners have included her AKC registration, a photo book of her from a pup until now and a deep regret that they could not work through her one minor issue. Millie has been diagnosed EPI, which has been caught early and she is a very healthy (if not a bit overweight) 72 pounds. EPI is an easily manageable insufficiency. It requires a good food, but not special food...a good food you should want to feed your dog anyway (about $49.00 and up for a 30 pound bag) and a smidgen of Pancreas powder. EPI dogs cannot digest food without this powder. It is relatively inexpensive and a bag lasts quite a while. Once Millie has a regime in place (how much powder on how much food) the EPI will be very easy to manage. Millie resembles any other beautiful German Shepherd. She plays fetch and is active, she aims to please and does an extraordinary job in doing so. She is very loyal and has had her whole world turned upside down today yet still wants to please. She is still looking around for her owners and if she were to get loose, I’m sure she would find her way home across the state. I know she had a very strong bond with her owners and it seems as though she was very well taken care of, she will need time with any new household to form that bond again, but has incredible mannerisms and listens to every word you say while the bond is being formed. We have much to learn about this sweet young dog
