If you’re looking for a fierce, confident and assertive GSD, then Ace is not the dog for you. If you are looking for a kind, sensitive, and easy-going companion, then Ace may be a good fit. Ace’s history is not well understood, but from what I know he was given up with his sister to the shelter. His sister was adopted out, but Ace remained in the shelter for a few weeks and VGSR brought him under their care.

It seems to me as if Ace has lived a very deprived life, never venturing out into the "world". Every sound or movement captures his attention as he tries to understand what is going on. He is a nervous boy who will need a calm and nurturing environment to help expose him to everyday sounds and to become secure with himself. It is questionable if he had ever been abused, or was merely neglected with minimal human interaction and will bolt or cower down if you reach down to pet him too quickly. He is beginning to trust me after only one night, but it will take a patience person to work with Ace through his issues..

Ace is nothing short of sweet, and really enjoys being loved on. The only way I am able to get him to calm down and stop pacing is to put him on my lap and hold him. He will then fall asleep laying on my chest. In a lot of ways, he is like a newborn child. He does not show an ounce of aggression, and in a nurturing, stable environment he will blossom..
