German Shepherd Dog (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
Bear was surrendered by his owner to a rural shelter because he and one of the family's two small children were not getting along. The owner stated that he was fine with their other child, however, he has not been exposed to children in his foster home so it is difficult to determine if Bear interacts well with other children. We think it best his new home be one either without children or with older children only. When describing Bear, his most appealing quality is his gentle manner. He is a handsome fellow who loves head and body rubs and responds to positive praise and seems eager to please. Appearance seems to resemble that of a Shiloh Shepherd. Bear has only been with us for a couple of weeks so we will learn more about him as he grows more comfortable with us. So far he won't mix with the resident dog but he does not seem to react to a dog in a kennel beside him. He has not expressed any interest in the cat. Bear is an overall good dog and no negative behaviors have been observed. If you are an approved adopter and would like more information about this sweet boy please email: donnab.equicare@gmail.com
