12-10-18  We initially thought that Keegan was a Black GSD Mix. We later found out that Keegan is a Pure Bred Belgium Sheep Dog. I researched the breed, and they have a lot of the similarities of a GSD. Keegan is approximately 4 years old. Keegan was an owner surrender. The owner was an older lady and Keegan was just too much for her. He got adopted and then was surrendered back to Heritage Humane Society. 

 

Keegan is a wonderful dog, and super intelligent. He's extremely loyal and loves attention. He's currently living with my two older dogs. Keegan tends to be a little bit of a Bully but has mellowed in the two weeks that I have had him. He was described to me as "Resource protective" Supposedly, he would get into it with other fosters over toys. The only issue that I have had with him is he got into it with my Malinois over food. I've seemed to correct that issue, but just feeding them in different spots, and taking Keegan back to his bowl. Keegan takes corrections beautifully. In fact, he is very sensitive and gets very upset with himself. Which is part of the breed description. 

 

Keegan loves everyone he meets. He does get excited and will initially jump on you. Once again we are working on it, and he corrects very easily. I'm not sure how Keegan does with kids or cats? I think a lot of both would be how Savvy each are. I would like to see Keegan go to a family where he would be the only dog or a family where they have a larger dog. Keegan looks much bigger than he is but that's due to his long coat.
